Compostable waste bags in the office
Environmentally friendly bin liners from a Tyrolean family business
At “Austria’s Best Family Businesses 2025”, Peter Zeman got to know the Tyrolean family business NATURABIOMAT®. Today, we use the compostable bio bags and large bin liners made from recycled plastic in the office, and all employees have received a sustainable goodie bag.
At the “Austria’s Best Family Businesses 2025” awards ceremony in the Aula der Wissenschaften in Vienna, two companies were honoured that have a lot in common: sustainable thinking, long-term entrepreneurship and a clear focus on quality. Zeman Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH received the award for best family business in Vienna, while NATURABIOMAT GmbH from Schwaz won the Tyrolean state award.
During the event, Peter Zeman met the Margreiter family, who have been running NATURABIOMAT for three decades. The company is considered a pioneer in certified compostable packaging and waste bags made from renewable raw materials and supplies customers throughout Europe with its products. The exchange quickly developed into a concrete idea: when two outstanding family businesses get to know each other, our team should benefit from it, and so should the environment.
The Zeman Group has therefore purchased a selection of NATURABIOMAT® products: compostable waste bags and food storage bags, bin liners made from recycled plastic, and dog waste bags. These are used at the office and also distributed to all employees as a small sustainable gift. Everyone received a package for home, packed in a Zeman organic fabric bag.
