Hanover: Enlargement of hangar 1
The airport in Hanover is currently being expanded to provide more space for higher aircraft in the future. And Zeman’s steel construction expertise is being put to good use.
Large aircraft hangar 1 at Hanover Airport, which dates back to 1973, is to be enlarged and Zeman has been awarded the contract for this in the course of a negotiated procedure. The entrance height of the hangar is to be increased from 15m to 20m. In order to achieve this, Zeman is extending the existing supports, the steel structure is being reinforced in some areas and the entire steel roof of the 100m long and 70m wide hangar, which consists of 5m-high trusses, is being cut free and raised by 5m in one go.
