Main Bracing Supports for DC Tower 2
We are currently working on one of Vienna’s future landmarks, the 175-meter-high DC Tower 2. We have been commissioned to erect the four main bracing columns, each 30 meters high. They will be decisive for the stability of the tower against earthquakes and wind loads. The supports are made of high-strength S460 steel and designed as composite supports to minimise the amount of material used. According to our assembly plan, the support towers are each delivered in five segments, lifted into place with a 650 tonne crane and welded together. We have already completed 60% of the work.
We would like to thank spannverbund GmbH for their excellent support in planning and structural engineering as well as the client PORR Group.
