New maintenance halls for ÖBB Technische Services GmbH in St. Pölten

After its 110th anniversary since its foundation (1907), the traditional Austrian Federal Railways company was expanded in 2018 with three new maintenance halls…

Since its foundation in 1907 with a single department – wagon construction – ÖBB-Technische Services GmbH has developed into an established service provider for smaller and larger rail transport companies, with a total of 25 locations in Europe (22 of them in AT).

The site in St. Pölten has now been expanded with three new maintenance halls.

Zeman was commissioned with the delivery and assembly of steel structures and cladding for two of them. The third hall was built in concrete.

The two buildings with a total area of 5,500 m2 and 600 tons of steel structures, using steel girders with corrugated web – sin beams, have now been successfully delivered.

The use of sin girders in projects with large spans allows the total weight of the steel structures to be reduced by 10-30%.
