According to the Guinness Book of Records, the Capital Gate in Abu Dhabi holds the world record for the most inclined building in the world. It is inclined by 18 degrees (14 degrees more than the Leaning Tower of Pisa), 160 meters high and clad with 23,000 m² of uniquely ... shaped triangular panels on 34 floors. The building is adorned with a sculptural “splash” that flows down to the entrance canopy and over the adjacent grandstand. The tower is part of the Capital Centre, a micro-city that offers space to live and work and is directly connected to the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre site. The triangular construction of the main building was composed of 700 predominantly triangular elements with diamond-shaped profiles, all of which were prefabricated on site. Due to the complex geometry, each of the 12,000 triangular insulating glass panels is unique in its dimensions. Capital Gate was the largest single order for Waagner Biro at the time the contract was awarded.
