Kurzbeschreibung
Elephant Gates: In 1996, Schönbrunn Zoo in Vienna established an elephant park consisting of a 4,600 m² outdoor area and a 2,100 m² elephant house. Zeman & Co was tasked with supplying massive hydraulic gates to divide the different outdoor areas. These gates needed to be extremely robust to withstand the pressure from African elephants, the heaviest living land animals, while remaining easy to operate.
The gates were custom-made from solid stainless steel plates, 15-20 cm thick, and equipped with hydraulic gate drives. The new elephant gates have been successfully put into operation. The works included engineering, production and assembly.
Aviary: At Schönbrunn Zoo, the newly built East Afr

Aviary: At Schönbrunn Zoo, the newly built East Africa House was opened along with the giraffe pavilion and the aviary constructed by Zeman & Co. This aviary was created for smaller animal species such as dwarf mongooses and Decken’s hornbills, which forage together in the wild.
A unique feature of this aviary is the hydraulic synchronous tensioning system of the cable support structure with hydraulic overload protection, designed to handle heavy snowfall. The structure used 3 tons of duplex-coated steel and 200 m² of black-coated stainless steel cable net.
