ZEMAN Bauelemente provides breathtaking 360-degree views at icy heights

At an impressive height of 3,048 meters, the “Ice Q” design restaurant on the Gaislachkogel in Sölden, which opened at the end of 2013, sets new standards for high-alpine construction. ZEMAN was also significantly involved in this realization.

The restaurant with a connecting bridge to the summit cross impresses not only with its 360-degree view, but above all with its construction, which consists of glass and wood as well as 140 tons of steel, manufactured and supplied by ZEMAN. The construction site at an altitude of over 3,000 meters posed major challenges for man and material: the cantilevered part that forms the first floor had to be so rigid that the glass façade would not twist in any way. The entire building is only anchored in the area of the internal elevator shaft, the rest is movable. The access bridge and the connecting bridge to the summit cross are also movably supported. Here you can get more impressions of the “Ice Q”.
