Zeman & Co: New heat pump plant for Windhager

Renewable energies and heat pumps are currently in high demand, and demand has increased as a result of the energy transition and the price increases for fossil fuels. This is why heating specialist Windhager Zentralheizung GmbH is building Austria’s most modern production and development plant for heat pumps in Pinsdorf near Gmunden. With a production capacity of up to 40,000 heat pumps per year, the new site will go down as a milestone in the company’s history and make an important contribution to environmental and climate protection.

Windhager and Zeman are both long-established, family-run companies from Austria and share very similar values,” said BM DI Josef Bartlechner, Managing Director of Zeman & Co, expressing his delight at the contract.

In the short period from April 2023 to March 2024, the steel construction specialist Zeman & Co will be commissioned as general contractor to build the new warehouse and production halls with a total area of around 27,000 m². The main trades are: engineering, steel supporting structure, timber element ceiling incl. Acoustic soffits, panel façades, aluminum mullion and transom façades, aluminum portals, windows, doors, skylight domes, fire protection cladding, an extensively greened roof on the office building and much more.

Zeman Group: Everything from a single source

Zeman & Co is an Austrian company from the family-run and internationally active Zeman Group. Other companies from the broad-based and well-established group of companies are involved as subcontractors: PEM Gesellschaft m.b.H., the hall specialist from Austria, is responsible for the façade cladding, the connections and finishes of the façade as well as the windows. The Group’s own plants ZEKON Sp. z o.o. and Zeman Celik Türkiye, which are equipped with innovative machinery from Zeman Bauelemente, manufacture and supply the steel structures. It should be emphasized that mainly local subcontractors were commissioned for the remaining trades. The timber element ceilings are being erected in collaboration with Graf-Holztechnik GmbH.
