Zeman in Playboy – between calendar girls and chrome rims

While cleaning out old copies of trade journals, we found an almost forgotten piece of PR history: An editorial article about a project by Zeman HDF Sp. z o.o. in Playboy, January 2009. 😎 Unpaid. Unplanned. And unbelievably good.

🎯 What was it all about?
A milestone in the art of engineering: for the first time in Europe, a roof construction of this size was completely pre-assembled and then placed as a whole on a clinker silo using huge cranes.

The facts:
🔸 Diameter of the dome: 58 meters (significantly larger than that of St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome)
🔸 Weight: 320 tons
🔸 Lifting height: 37 meters
🔸 Lifting time: 6 hours
🔸 Preparation: several months

💡 Why was it done this way?
Due to extremely high safety standards, the roof was pre-assembled next to the silo – a logistical and structural masterpiece.
